The combination of Lamium maculatum 'Aureum' (dead nettle) and Asarum europaeum (European ginger) when intertwined can make a striking groundcover.

It is hard to find a good red flower for the garden. This Monarda didyma 'Adam' (bee balm) comes pretty close to it! What a wonderful plant for attracting hummingbirds and bees.
