Fall Colors
by Diane Fagergren
As the fall season approaches, the colors in the garden are turning to that of lavender, rose, gold and rust. Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsturm' (black-eyed Susan) are in abundance this year, brightening up large portions of the garden. Clumps of Sedum 'Autumn Joy' (live forever) are starting to show their colorful hues of ruby red and rose. Many Buddleias are in full bloom and the butterflies are busy fluttering from one stand to the next.

Our new ornamental grass bed that was planted early this summer is getting established and should put on a wonderful show for the fall season next year.
Soon we will start cutting back the perennials in the borders and planting bulbs that will bloom this coming spring. I am finding it hard to believe that the summer is over and it is the middle of September already!
