The Cary Institute focuses on providing exceptional resources and experiences for educators to help them understand the complexities of the ecosystems around us.

Professional Development- Find out about current fellowship opportunities, our annual summer institute (now available for graduate  credit through SUNY New Paltz) and school-year workshops.

Curricula- A variety of teaching materials, developed by Cary Institute educators, is available free of charge in our searchable database.  Topics include urban ecology, schoolyard investigations, water, climate change, and biodiversity for students of all ages.  Protocols for outdoor investigations are also available.   

Field Trips and School Visits: Ecosystem Explorations Programs- Learn more about our school programs, visits by our educators to your classroom, and pre/post visit lessons and background readings.

Teaching Ecosystem Literacy Website– For teachers currently involved in our fellowships and summer programs.
