- We will provide unique professional development for young educators, contributing to the field.
- Fellows will grow as ecology educators, with an emphasis on integrating inquiry and constructivist approaches to teaching with field- and research-based teaching and learning of key ecology concepts, skills, processes and thinking modalities.
- Fellows will contribute to programs, bringing energy and focused effort, expertise, new ideas and creativity to our efforts.
- Fellows will contribute to the field of ecology education by producing something of substance and permanence to share with people. Possibilities for contributions to the field include:
- Write a paper based on an assessment of a specific program
- Develop an article on an innovative teaching technique
- Produce a teaching module for posting on the website
- Produce materials interpreting research for youth, teachers or the general public for the website
- Develop and document a new program for a local school or other group
- Present work at a regional or national conference
