1996-1997 Teacher Reflection Task

Dear SYEFEST Teacher,

We hope the school year is going well. As part of our effort to find out just what SYEFEST is accomplishing, we interested in learning about what teachers are doing with their students. We would like to ask you to take a few minutes to think and write about an experience you have had teaching schoolyard ecology. On the front of the page we ask you to describe a noteworthy activity, and then on the back, to reflect on this activity. Thank you for your continued cooperation with the evaluation of the SYEFEST project.

Please return the completed form by March x in the enclosed stamped self-addressed envelope.
Good luck with the remainder of the school year.

Thank you.

Please describe the most noteworthy schoolyard ecology teaching experience you have had to date. We are looking for experiences that stand out in your mind as thing you learned a lot from and/or that were particularly valuable for your students. You can describe a single lesson, a series of related lessons or an entire unit. Please attach any materials such as lesson plans, handouts, materials lists or samples of student work that will help us understand the experience you describe.
